Holy Cow!

Im Abschlussjahr meiner Animations-Ausbildung zur Designerin FH an der damaligen Schule für Gestaltung, heute Hochschule Luzern, war Rinderwahnsinn ein aktuelles Thema. So beschäftigte ich mich für meinen Abschlussfilm mit Kühen, ging auf einen Bauernhof, molk meine erste Kuh und wählte sie als Modell für meine Zeichnungen. Auf die alte Frau, die Picasso malt, kam ich durch meine Grossmutter. Gleichzeitig verwirklichte ich in dieser Arbeit einen Traum von mir: in Bilder und Plakate eintauchen zu können!

’Mad Cow Disease’ was a reality in cattle farming whilst in my final year of studies at the University of Art in Lucerne, and for this reason I based my final film on cows. Having visited farms and milked my first cow I chose a cow as the model for my drawings. My grandmother inspired me for the old woman, the main character who paints Picasso. Also I created in this work one of my dreams: to be able to enter the fantasy world of paintings and posters – the idea of stepping inside a picture into another realm of existence.
