Die 90-jährige Krimiautorin Lydia Walliser leidet unter einer Schreibblockade. Der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert sie sich witzig und weltoffen, die Familie hingegen bekommt eine weit uncharmantere Seite zu spüren. Für ihren Enkel Nick, den sie widerwillig übers Wochenende bei sich aufnimmt, heisst es: kein Handy, kein TV, kein Lärm. Nick befürchtet, dass ihm die schlimmsten Tage seines Lebens bevorstehen. Als er jedoch im Nachbarhaus seltsame Dinge und vielleicht sogar einen Mord beobachtet, beginnt er mit seiner Grossmutter zu ermitteln. Die beiden erleben das Abenteuer ihres Lebens.

The 90-year-old mystery writer Lydia Walliser is suffering from writer’s block. Although she presents herself to the public as witty and cosmopolitan, her family bears the brunt of her more abhorrent traits. For Nick, her grandson whom she grudgingly accommodates for the weekend, it means: no mobile phone, no TV, no noise. Nick fears that these might be the worst days of his life. But then he notices strange things happening at the house next door and may have even witnessed a murder. When he and his grandmother begin to investigate, they embark on the adventure of the lives.

Für eine Szene in diesem Fernsehfilm von Sabine Boss musste der junge Darsteller in einem Steinbruch durch ein Seil gesichert werden. Im fertigen Film durfte man dieses natürlich nicht mehr sehen. Dadurch, dass es sich um Einstellungen mit bewegter Kamera handelte und keine Clean Plate gedreht wurde, war viel Handarbeit angesagt. Aus verschiedenen Zeitabschnitten rekonstruierte ich den Hintergrund, entfernte das Seil mit Masken, und fügte schliesslich die Kamerabewegung wieder hinzu.

In a dangerous scene, the young actor in this television film (by director Sabine Boss) was secured by a rope. The rope was not to be seen in the final version. As the camera was moving and the camera crew were unable to shoot clean plates. A lot of manual work was involved. I reconstructed the background from different time segments, removed the rope with masks, and at the end, once again reintroduced the camera movement.
